Conditions regarding the Video Tape to DVD transfer...

Time involved in the process depends upon the difficulty of doing so due to age of the tape(s) and how much footage there is. Of course the fewer the number of tapes submitted the faster the process.

  • We require that your tape(s) be family-friendly.
  • Additional fee may apply if transferring your tapes needs extra attention to properly transfer them  due to their condition.

What will be done with your tapes after they're transferred

We don’t just throw your tapes into a machine and that’s it.  We do the following:

  • Fade up from a black screen at the beginning of your videos and then fade out to black at the end.
  • If there is any static between recorded pieces of video we do our best to cut it out and place the good pieces of video against each other. This way you get only good video; nothing wasted!  A machine by itself doesn’t do that.
  • Depending on the condition of your recordings, they may be color-corrected in Davinci Resolve, one of the best video editing programs today.
  • We run your tapes through a Time Base Corrector, a multi-system time base corrector/frame synchronizer, which corrects picture jitter and time base errors from videotapes.  It can help stabilize your videos and make colors more vivid.  Check out the video below.

Questions you may have about the Video Tape to DVD transfer...

Can you make my video tapes look HD or even 4K?

In short, no.  Video tapes were used back when standard definition was the norm.  It was a much lower resolution that what we have today.  When we transfer your tapes they may appear fuzzy or slightly out of focus on today’s HD and 4K TVs and computer monitors.  This is normal.

Can I rent or borrow a player so I can watch my tapes first before having them transferred?

Sorry, but we don’t do either.  However, when owner Rob Jones meets with you to pick up your project he’ll be happy to bring a player so you and he can watch some of your video tapes together.

When will I get everything?

Depends on how many you give us, the condition of it/them and what all you wish for us to do with it/them.  If it’s just a few we can finish them usually within a week.

If I live far away how can I get my tapes to you?

Since we’re a home business located in Roanoke, VA you can mail them to us.   Once we finish transferring them, we’ll let you know the total cost.  You can then either mail us a check or pay via Paypal.

Are there any video tapes you won’t transfer?

We won’t transfer sexually explicit or copyright material like Disney movies for example.

Contact us first and leave a message so we can get back with you.  Since we’re a home-based business located in Roanoke, VA we’ll discuss with you about arranging a time and place to meet or, if need be, to obtain our address so you can mail your tapes to us.
