Tara and Billy’s wedding and reception

For our first event of October we had the pleasure of capturing Tara and Billy’s wedding and reception.  Their wedding took place on the grounds of Early Inn at the Grove in Rocky Mount, VA.  They each held their vows they had written to each other on paper.  As a sign of their unity they took the papers and put them into a wooden box sitting nearby on a table.  Then with hammers in hand they nailed the box shut.  Their plan is to open the box on their first year anniversary.  This symbol of unity was new to us, but we thought it was very fascinating.

Their reception took place under a nearby large tent.  After introduction of the wedding parties and finally the newly wedded couple, they undertook their first dance.  Soon afterwards dinner followed along with the other traditional reception event.  Finally, for their send off everyone used the flashlights on their cell phones.
